The Story of the Jubilee Singers, with Their Songs, 2nd ed., Hodder, 1875, captioned and mounted carbon print port. frontis. of the singers, a.e.g., orig. cloth gilt, rubbed, spine faded, 8vo. The Jubilee Singers were emancipated slaves who staged fund-raising tours to raise money for educational projects in Tennessee. This copy is signed by the singers Ella Sheppard, Maggie L. Porter, America W. Robinson, Georgia Gordon, Jennie Jackson, Julia Jackson, F.J. Loudin, B.W. Thomas, H.D. Alexander and Thomas Rutling.
