| Earthenware ewer painted by Edouard Rischgitz probably Mintons or Wedgwood circa 1860 of Renaissance revival style moulded with stylized leaf bands, and cane handle, the rim and base of handle applied with pink snakes, gilt mask to the base of the handle above painted signature, decorated with a shipping scene in which many tall ships are moored with a single steam ship towing a tall ship, the base and neck decorated with stylized scrolling flora, the spout painted with a shell and ribbons, (losses to the body of one lower snake) 46cm high Edouard Rischgitz (1828-1909) was one of the few pupils to train under Corot, and painted for Wedgwood and Mintons supervising the work at the 1867 International Exhibition in Paris.
