The grip of a Luristan mask sword. 10th to 8th centuries B.C. With raised double bands, the remains of the rincasso (blade missing) chiselled with two reposing lions, on the pommel flat two strongly stylised lion masks behind bearded human heads. L 11.5 cm (4.5in). Professionally conserved, in excellent state and with a fine pyre patina.

Straight pointed blade with several fullers, the short quillons with lateral projections, a Y-shaped grip tang with three remaining rivets, professionally conserved, in modest condition.
