A Vic infantry field officers 1845 pattern sword, slightly curved, fullered blade 32, by Buckmaster, No 15027, etched with crowned VR cypher, R Arms and motto in scrolled panel on one side, and Union spray and oak/laurel leaf panel on the other with blank escutcheon, regulation triple bar hilt with turned down inner portion and crowned VR cypher, wire bound fishskin grip, in its brass scabbard, with leather knot. Basically GC (some wear overall, inscriptions at forte mostly worn away, minor scabbard dents) Plate 7

A good quality late 18th century smallsword, slender hollow triangular blade, etched, blued and gilt for its entire length with a standing figure, trophies, scrolls, coronet and motto, the entire hilt of polished steel decorated with faceted studs, including dished oval guard and urn pommel. GC (dark patina to hilt with some light pitting, blade finish worn with some rust patches, quillon bent) Plate 6
